330			_aÀ l'intérieur de cette boîte se trouve un livre contenant treize lettres écrites entre 2019 et 2022 par l'artiste Yasmine Elmelegy à l'attention du sculpteur et industriel Fathy Mahmoud (1918-1982). Yasmine n'a jamais rencontré Fathy Mahmoud, mais elle a commencé à écrire ces lettres peu de temps après avoir découvert qu'une tasse qu'elle possède chez elle porte sa signature. Cela s'est produit quelques jours seulement après qu'elle ait appris que Fathy Mahmoud était responsable d'une série de statues publiques emblématiques au Caire et à Alexandrie. Les lettres révèlent la quête de Yasmine pour retrouver ce qui reste des œuvres de Fathy Mahmoud, des assiettes et tasses en porcelaine qu'il a produites, des usines qu'il a fondées, et de l'histoire qu'il a laissée derrière lui sur la relation entre l'art et l'industrie.

330			_aInside this box is a book that holds thirteen letters written between 2019 and 2022 by the artist Yamine Elmelegy to the sculptor and industrialist Fathy Mahmoud (1918-1982). Yasmine never met Fathy Mahmoud but started writing these letters shortly after she discovered that a cup she has at home is signed by him. This happened only days after she learnt that Fathy Mahmoud was responsible for a series of iconic public statues in Cairo and Alexandria. The letters show Yasmine’s search for what is left from Fathy Mahmoud’s artworks, the porcelain plates and cups he produced, the factories he founded and the history he left behind about the relationship between art and industry.
